Hot Flushes
So many herbs have been recommended for hot flushes associated with the menopause. Can you narrow the choice? The herbalist writes ...
With hot flushes, one is aiming to increase intake of natural plant hormones known as phyto-oestrogens. These are found in a wide variety of foods and herbs.Wild yam, red clover and black cohosh work well over the long-term to reduce the level of flushing. In addition to this, ensure a good intake of fruit and veg, seeds and sprouted pulses such as alfalfa. Keep tea and coffee to a minimum as they tend to aggravate flushing, as can stress and anxiety. For short-term instant relief, cold sage tea can be taken. Sage should not be taken in large doses over a long period of time.
