This warming and nourishing female tonic herb can help with menopausal problems and period pain. It is traditionally used to support the liver and digestive system in general, and is used in traditional Chinese medicine as a 'blood tonic' for deficiency states. See also under tinctures.

Should be avoided by those taking anti-coagulant therapy and women who experience very heavy periods. Avoid during pregnancy.
