Alfalfa Article

Alfalfa - Can Alfalfa be used to treat weight loss, and how is it best used?

The herbalist writes ...
Traditionally, alfalfa seeds are sprouted and eaten daily in salads, sandwiches, casseroles and stir frys etc. Special sprouters can be bought for this purpose from most health food shops. Alternatively, they can be boiled and eaten like other pulses. Alfalfa tintcure is traditionally taken for convalescence and to build strength.

Low weight and poor appetite can have many origins. Your GP should be informed so that cause can be thoroughly investigated. If poor appetite is the main problem, then herbs such as gentian and centuary tincture help to stimulate the appetite and improve digestion. If the poor appetite has a nervous element to it, then bitter orange flower tincture is superb at both relaxing nerves and stimulating the appetite.

A qualified nutritional therapist or herbalist will be able to give the you dietary advice.
